Connect Staff Application

Joining the Connect Through PLAY research team is an ideal opportunity for college students & recent college graduates to gain advanced research experience. Paid positions, course credit, and volunteer positions are available. Paid positions are typically reserved for lab veterans who have demonstrated on-site leadership ability or for particularly strong new applicants.

For University of South Carolina students, this hands-on research experience meets practicum, internship, & independent study requirements for PUBH 399/498, PSYC 498/598, & more. Research hours may also contribute to Honors College Beyond the Classroom hours or Graduation with Leadership Distinction. Further, we regularly supervise undergraduate research projects, including those completed as part of Magellan awards, Honors College Senior Thesis requirements, or submitted for Discover UofSC.

While on-site scheduling varies by site, week, and project timeline, research assistants should have good afternoon availability (3-6 PM) at least 1 day M-F.

NOTE: If you do not yet have a complete schedule for the 2023 fall semester, please indicate that in your application. You may still apply without submitting your schedule but will need to provide a fall semester schedule if selected to join the lab. For consideration, you should have at least one day M-F with good afternoon availability (2-6 PM).
